How much is a taxi from Palma Airport in 2026?

A metered taxi from Palma Airport costs about 17€ to Playa de Palma, 18€ to 20€ to Palma centre, 37€ to 41€ to Palmanova, 44€ to 49€ to Santa Ponsa, 74€ to 83€ to Alcúdia and 102€ to 114€ to Cala Ratjada. Those are not quotes from a company, they are what the official meter adds up to on the published tariff. Since Decree 20/2025 came into force on 25 May 2025, Palma and more than twenty other Mallorcan municipalities share one reference tariff, which is why the same trip no longer costs one thing leaving the airport and another thing coming back. We have been driving between this terminal and the resorts since 2017, and the meter is still the thing passengers ask us about first.

The meter is built from four pieces, and every one of them is public:

On top of that the tariff adds 3€ for five or six passengers, 6€ for seven or eight, 1.15€ if the taxi was ordered by phone, and 8.52€ for mountain destinations such as Sa Calobra, Cala Tuent or Cap de Formentor. Deià, Banyalbufar and Estellencs carry a smaller mountain supplement of 4.26€. There is no luggage charge at all, which is worth knowing if a driver ever tries to add one.

Here is the whole island in one table. The taxi columns are estimates worked out from the official tariff and the road distance from the terminal, so treat them as a well informed guess rather than a price. The last column is our own private transfer, booked in advance for the whole car.

How much is a taxi from Palma Airport to Palmanova or Magaluf?

Around 37€ to 43€ in the daytime, and 41€ to 45€ once the night and weekend tariff kicks in. You will see the resort written as both Palmanova and Palma Nova, and taxi drivers answer to either. Both bays sit about 25 to 26 km from the terminal along the Ma-1, which is a twenty minute drive at six in the morning and a good deal slower at midday in August. A pre-booked ride to Palmanova starts from 84€ and to Magaluf from 91€, for the whole vehicle rather than per person.

How much is a taxi from Palma Airport to Santa Ponsa or Peguera?

About 44€ to 49€ for Santa Ponsa and 50€ to 56€ for Peguera. These two sit deeper into Calvià, so the meter has another five to ten kilometres to chew through than it does for Palmanova. The junction traffic around Palmanova and Magaluf on a Saturday changeover is what makes the real fare drift above the estimate. Our own price is from 94€ to Santa Ponsa and from 105€ to Peguera.

What does a taxi to Alcúdia, Cala Millor or Cala Ratjada cost?

This is where the meter starts to hurt: 74€ to 83€ for Alcúdia, 91€ to 102€ for Cala Millor and 102€ to 114€ for Cala Ratjada. The north and east routes are long, and the night tariff adds 15 cents a kilometre, which over 79 km to Cala Ratjada is another twelve euros before anything else happens. If you land after nine in the evening, which plenty of northern European flights do, you are on tariff 2 automatically. Where is the taxi rank at Palma Airport?

On floor 0 of the terminal, in the arrivals hall, and it moved in November 2025. Taxis now collect from the right-hand side of the arrivals bay instead of the left, with separate lanes for vehicles coming in and going out, so nobody walks between moving cars any more. Aena is blunt about the rest: use the signed rank, ignore anyone offering you a ride inside the terminal, and ask for a receipt. In July and August the queue at the rank on a Saturday afternoon can run to twenty or thirty minutes, which is time that does not show up in any fare table. Our drivers wait inside the hall on those same changeover Saturdays, so we watch that queue build from the other side of it every August.

Is it cheaper to pre-book a transfer or take a taxi?

For one or two people on a short daytime hop, the taxi meter usually wins on price, and we would rather tell you that than dress it up. What a pre-booked transfer changes is everything around the number. You know the total before you fly instead of watching a meter climb through a traffic jam. Your driver tracks the flight, so a two hour delay is not your problem. The vehicle is already the right size, which matters once you are six people with six suitcases and a standard taxi seats four. And on the way home your pickup time is agreed the day before (we run from 07:00 to 22:00) instead of hoping a resort taxi answers the phone.

The gap also narrows in three specific situations: arrivals on the night and holiday tariff, groups of five or more where the taxi adds passenger supplements and may need two cars, and the long northern and eastern routes where every extra minute of August traffic is billed at 19.40€ an hour of waiting time. What can push the real fare above these estimates?

Traffic, mostly. The meter charges distance and standing time together, so a jam on the Via de Cintura is billed at 19.40€ an hour on top of the kilometres. After that come the tariff 2 hours, which cover every Saturday and Sunday and every night from 21:00 to 07:00, the 3€ or 6€ passenger supplements above four people, and the mountain supplements if your hotel is in Deià or beyond. Nothing here is a hidden fee, it is all in the published tariff (the island-wide breakdown, supplements and worked examples included, is in our Mallorca taxi prices guide), but it is why the same journey can come out fifteen euros apart on two different days. Every taxi figure in this article is calculated from the official reference tariff for Mallorca (flag drop, price per kilometre, airport supplement and the 16.95€ airport minimum) applied to the approximate road distance from the terminal to each resort, at tariff 1 and at tariff 2.
